Research

Every year, the Foundation receives a wide array of applications for research grants that explore different aspects of orthopaedic science, from diagnostic techniques to new surgical procedures. Applications are judged by an expert panel according to scientific merit and ultimate clinical benefit to patients.

The Foundation continues to uphold the research cornerstone on which it was founded. The J. Edouard Samson Award is the premiere award for orthopaedic research in Canada, and the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Legacy - CORL - strives to create a lasting endowment for the future of orthopaedic research in Canada.

"What's better when driving: stopping at a gas station every few kilometres for directions, or relying on a GPS?  Which gets you to your destination most precisely and efficiently?  The answer is obvious - when it comes to surgery too." ...

Community Care

Because the strength of the public health care system varies across the nation, we work with volunteers, hospitals and health care professionals to identify priorities to better meet community needs. We focus on increasing capacity and efficiency so that more people have access to movement-restoring treatment.
